Consequences of notice between the assignors and the debtor

As long as there is no notice or knowledge, it is lawful for the debtor to discharge himself by payment to the transferor and it is open for the latter to exercise all his rights against the debtor. The transferee during this interval of time may only proceed against the transferor, for the necessary measures for preservation of his right.
