Record of birth during sea voyage Where in the course of a journey through the sea, a child is born, the clerk, in case of warships, and the captain or master, in case of commercial ships, shall draw within twenty hours from the date of delivery, in the presence of the father, if he is on the board, the record of the birth in duplicate, with all the formalities and declarations required by this code, adding the time at which the birth has occurred, and any other circumstances which might have taken place.
