Library policies · Effective 4 October 2026

Data use & attribution

Library access and the separate MCP server are free of charge. AI agents, CRM applications and chatbots may use them for information and research with clear attribution.

Required attribution

When displaying, quoting or answering from library results, include “Data via Vidhi Codex” with a link to the relevant act or library page. Preserve the act title, language, section identifier, available update information and any missing-data or processing warning. Do not imply official endorsement or that the operator has verified your derived answer.

Permission and rights

Free access grants permission to use the service under these terms; it does not transfer ownership or grant rights the operator does not hold. Check the rights applicable to each underlying statute, document, commentary and asset before reproducing or redistributing it. Attribution alone does not create permission to reuse third-party copyrighted material.

Automated use

Use the MCP tools to search and retrieve bounded records. Follow pagination, preserve attribution supplied in every response, cache sensibly, and avoid excessive simultaneous requests. Free access is best effort and has no uptime commitment. A self-hosted deployment may impose fair-use limits or pause access to protect availability.

Status and freshness

Data not available means the requested item has not been supplied. Data processing means harvesting or verification is pending. Neither status authorises a chatbot to fill missing statutory text or invent a translation. Last-updated fields describe stored records and are not a guarantee that the law is current.

Generated answers

Clearly distinguish statutory extracts from commentary and AI-generated interpretations. Show the information-only notice alongside answers that could be mistaken for legal advice. Verify relevant current legislation and amendments independently before making or recommending decisions.

Corrections and downstream copies

Corrections to the library do not automatically update cached CRM records, exported documents or chatbot knowledge bases. Integrators are responsible for refreshing their copies, maintaining source references and communicating material corrections to their users.
