Liability of lodge keeper

The lodger is liable, as if he is a depository for the luggage or for any goods, which the guest has lodged in the lodging. § Sole paragraph - Where, however, the things are of small value and capable of only disappearing, the guest shall entrust to the custody of the lodger, failing which the lodger shall not be answerable for their loss and damage and it is not established that fault lies on the lodger.
