Effect of legitimation by recognition

The children legitimated voluntarily or by judgment acquire the following rights: 1) To use the surname of their parents; 2) To be maintained by them; 3) To succeed to their ascendants or to have a share in the inheritance in accordance with the provisions of Articles 1989 and 1992.
