Duties of editor

The editor of a work, whether unpublished or printed, but which yet has not fallen in the public domain, is not permitted to change or modify the text, during the lifetime of the author or of his heirs, and shall maintain the title of the work which the author has given to it and the name of the author, except if otherwise provided.
