Statutory text
The editor, who has contracted the publication of a work, is bound, in the absence of a stipulation to the contrary, to commence the publication within one year, counted from the date of the contract, and to pursue the same regularly, on the penalty of being liable to pay damages, to the person, with whom he has contracted. § Sole paragraph - The editor, who has contracted successive editions of a work, cannot interrupt their publication, except when it is proved, that there is an unsurmountable difficulty for the production of the work.
