Article 1590 – External form of purchase of immobile assets The contract of purchase and sale of immobile assets shall always be reduced to writing. § 1 - Where the value of the assets does not exceed 1,000$ the same may be effected by way of private document, with the signature of the vendor, or of the signature of any other on his behalf when he does not know to write and of two more witnesses who shall write their name in full. § 2 - Where the value exceeds 1,000$ the same may be effected only by public deed.
