Liability of possessor in bad faith

The possessor in bad faith is liable to pay compensation for damages, except on proof that such damages are not attributable to his fault or negligence, and he shall also be liable for accidental damages, if it is proved, that the same would not have occurred, if the thing would have been in possession of the successful party.
