Building permit to be granted by the Architect on Record in certain cases and his responsibility to file documents and deposit fees with the Municipality

Subject to the provisions of clauses (a) and (b) of sub-section (2), and clauses (a) and (b) of sub-section (3), of section 268, an Architect on Record shall grant a building permit in such cases, and in such manner, and shall be responsible for submitting such documents to, and depositing such fee with, the Municipality before granting the building permit as aforesaid, as may be prescribed: Provided that the grant of any such building permit shall be subject to review by the Chief Municipal Officer and if, during such review, it appears to the Chief Municipal Officer that the building permit as aforesaid has been granted in contravention of any provision of this Act or the rules made thereunder, the Chief Municipal Officer may, after giving the Architect on Record an opportunity of being heard, revoke such building permit, and, thereupon, the provisions of section 278 shall apply.
