Statutory text
Subject to the provisions of the Sikkim Forest, Water Courses and Road Reserve (Preservation and Protection) Act, 1988, the Chief Municipal Officer may, if he thinks fit, by a notice, in writing, require the owner of any land in the municipal area on which trees, shrubs, or hedges grow, to keep such trees, shrubs, or hedges in a trim condition so that such trees, shrubs, or hedges do not obstruct traffic on any street or pose any danger to public safety or overhang any street causing inconvenience or danger to the passers-by.
