Duties of Municipality (environmental sanitation)

It shall be the duty of the Municipality or any agency authorized by it in this behalf to take adequate measures for each of the following matters, namely:- (a) inspection, supervision, regulation, and control of premises to ensure proper environmental sanitation, (b) regulation of public bathing and washing, (c) provision for, and maintenance of, public conveniences, (d) grant of licence for keeping animals, and control of stray animals, (e) grant of licence to - (i) butchers, and (ii) owner of slaughterhouses, and (f) control of nuisance.
