Municipality to implement schemes.

(1) The Municipality shall take necessary steps for- (a) maintenance of forest, excluding tree-felling, located within the municipal area. (b) promotion of urban forestry, (c) creation of public parks and gardens, and planting of trees, (d) provision of parks and playgrounds for children and youth, (e) provision of street-side gardens, (f) encouragement of nurseries, and (g) organization of flower shows. (2) For the purposes of sub-section (1), the Municipality shall obtain technical personnel from the Forest, Environment and Wildlife Management Department of the State Government. (3) The Municipality may, from time to time, take steps to promote awareness about the national heritage of flora and fauna among the school children and the youth.
