Statutory text
- (1) If it appears to the Board for sanitary reasons so to do, it may authorize an officer of the municipality to inspect a building after due notice to the owner or occupier, it may then by a written notice require the owner or occupier of any building to cause the same or any portion thereof to be lime washed or otherwise cleansed either externally or internally or both externally and internally.
- (2) Any owner or occupier of building, who fails to comply with a requisition issued under the provisions of sub-section (1) shall be liable, for every such default to a penalty not exceeding twenty-five rupees and to a further penalty not exceeding five rupees for every day which the default is continued after the expiration of eight days from the date of service on him of such requisition.
