Short title, extent and commencement

Short title, extent and commencement:-

1. (I) This Act may be called the Meghalaya Municipal Act, 1973. 2. It extends to the whole of Meghalaya provided that the State Government may by Notification direct that the Act shall apply to any particular area with such exceptions as may be specified; NOTES MEGHALAYA Section 1:-The sub-section (3) has been omitted in its application to the State of Meghalaya vide the Meghalaya Adoption of Laws Order (No.3), 1973, which shall be deemed to have had effect and come into force on the 21st day of January, 1972 and named as the Meghalaya Municipal Act.
