Purchaser's title.—
- (1) When any sale of immovable property under this Chapter has been confirmed, the Collector shall put the person declared to be the purchaser in possession of the property and shall grant him a certificate to the effect that he has purchased the property therein mentioned; and such certificate shall be deemed to be a valid transfer of such property and shall be included in the list of documents for the purposes of the Indian Registration Act, 1908.
- (2) The certificate shall state the name of the person declared to be the purchaser; and the property sold shall be held by the purchaser by the same tenure and at the same assessment as it was held by the defaulter at the time of the sale, and shall be free of all encumbrances, other than attachments subsisting at the date of the purchase, or such encumbrances as may have been created or registered by the Government or by a special order of the Government.
