On confirmation of sale, purchaser to be put in possession. Certificate of purchase. —

1. (1) After a sale of any occupancy or alienated holding shall have been confirmed under the provisions of the preceding section, the Collector shall put the person declared to be the purchaser into possession of the land with all the rights of the former occupant or authorised holder on account of whose default the land was sold, and shall cause his name to be entered in the land records as the occupant or holder in lieu of that of such former occupant or holder.
2. (2) The Collector may, if he thinks fit, grant to the purchaser a certificate of purchase in the prescribed form.
