Definitions. (1) In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires- (a) "Nyayapeeth" means the Nyayapeeth of the Lokayukta; (b) "Adhyaksh" means the Chairperson of the Lokayukta; (c) "Saksham Adhikari" means- (one) in relation to the Chief Minister, the Vidhan Sabha; (two) in relation to a member of the Council of Ministers, the Chief Minister; (three) in relation to a member of the Vidhan Sabha other than a Minister, the Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha; (four) in relation to an officer/employee of the State Government, his appointing authority; (five) in relation to a Chairperson or members of any body or board or corporation or authority or company or society or autonomous body (by whatever name known) established or constituted under an Act of the Vidhan Sabha or wholly or partly financed or controlled by the State Government, the Minister-in-charge of the administrative department of such body or board or corporation or authority or company or society or autonomous body; (six) in relation to an officer of any body or board or corporation or authority or company or society or autonomous body (by whatever name known) established or constituted under an Act of the Vidhan Sabha or wholly or partly financed or controlled by the State Government, the head of such body or board or corporation or authority or company or society or autonomous body; (seven) in any other case not falling under sub-clause (one) to sub-clause (six), such department or authority as the State Government may specify by notification; provided that if any person specified in sub-clause (five) or sub-clause (six) is also a member of the Vidhan Sabha, the Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha shall be the Saksham Adhikari.
