Tahsildar, his appointment, duties and powers.
The Telangana Land Revenue Act, 1317 F(1) The Revenue officer entrusted with the revenue administration of a taluqa shall be called a „Tahsildar‟ and he shall be subordinate to the Collector and the Deputy and or Assistant Collector concerned. He shall be appointed by the Government or by an officer authorised by the Government in this behalf by notification in the Official Gazette. His duties and powers shall be such as may be expressly imposed or conferred by this Act or by any other law for the time being in force, or as may be imposed upon or delegated to him by the Collector under the general or special order of the Government. The Government may, if necessary, appoint more than one Tahsildar.
(2) The Government may appoint one or more officers to be designated as Naib Tahsildar, to assist the Tahsildar in the revenue administration of his taluqa, and may by general or special order confer upon the Naib Tahsildars generally or any specified Naib Tahsildar all or any of the powers of a Tahsildar under this Act or any other law for the time being in force.
