Who shall be Pattadar on death of Pattadar.

On the death of a Pattadar of Khalsa-land the name of the person who is lawfully entitled under a will and if there be no such person, of the nearest heir, and if there are several heirs of equal degree, of the one who by custom has the right of primogeniture shall be entered in the register by the Collector and the names of the remaining heirs shall be entered as Shikmidars. But, if at any time, any person produces against claimants of a patta a decree of a competent Court as regards his right of preference, amendment in the Government records shall be made in accordance with the decree.
