Definitions
The H.P. Panchayati Raj Act, 1994-(Hindi version(x) "Candidate" means a person who has been or claims to be duly nominated as a candidate at any election and any such person shall be deemed to have been a candidate as from the time when such person begins to hold himself out as a prospective candidate; (gh) "Corrupt practice" means any of the practices specified in section 180; (ng) "Cost" means all costs, charges and expenses of, or incidental to, a trial of an election petition; (ch) "Election" means an election to fill any office made under the provisions of this Act or the rules made thereunder; (chh) "Election right" means the right of a person to stand or not to stand as a candidate, or to withdraw or not to withdraw his candidature, or to vote or refrain from voting at an election.
