Powers of officers for purpose of control.-

1. (1) The Inspector or any officer or person whom the Government or the Inspector may empower in this behalf, may enter on and inspect, or cause to be entered on and inspected, any immovable property or any work in progress under the control of any Panchayat or any institution under its control and management or any register, book, accounts or other documents in the possession or under the control of such Panchayat.
2. (2) The Inspector or any other person empowered by the Government in this behalf may -
   • (a) call for any document in the possession or under the control of a Panchayat;
   • (b) require a Panchayat to furnish such statements, accounts, reports or copies of documents relating to the proceedings or duties of the Panchayat as he may think fit;
   • (c) move the Panchayat for the consideration of any matter which he considers necessary;
   • (d) inspect any office of a Panchayat or any records or registers therein.
