Public slaughter-houses

Public slaughter-houses.—(1) A Village Panchayat may provide places for use as public slaughter-houses and may charge and levy such rents and fees for their use as it may think fit.

1. (2) The Village Panchayat may farm out the collection of such rents and fees for any period not exceeding three years at a time on such terms and conditions as it may think fit.
2. (3) Nothing in this section shall be deemed to authorise any Village Panchayat to slaughter, or permit the slaughter of, any cattle in contravention of any law for the time being in force relating to the prevention of cruelty to animals.
