Modification of Tamil Nadu Places of Public Resort Act, 1888

Modification of Tamil Nadu Places of Public Resort Act, 1888.- In the Tamil Nadu Places of Public Resort Act, 1888 (Tamil Nadu Act II of 1888), in its application to any Panchayat Village,-

1. (1) in Section 2, the definition of "place of public resort" shall be deemed to include any building or place, not being a building or place within the meaning of the Tamil Nadu District Municipalities Act, 1920 (Tamil Nadu Act V of 1920), in which any kind of public amusement, entertainment, game, sport or any other exhibition is provided or carried on and to which the public are admitted either on payment of money or with or without payment of money;
2. (2) in Section 3, for the words "the municipal council or local board" the words "the Village Panchayat" shall be substituted;
3. (3) for the word "chairperson" or "president" wherever it occurs, the word "President" shall be substituted;
4. (4) for the word "municipal office" or "office of the local board" wherever it occurs, the word "office of the Village Panchayat" shall be substituted.
