The Court

(1) The Court shall be an advisory body of the University and it shall have the power to review the broad policies and programmes for the improvement and development of the University, to consider and pass resolutions on the annual report, and to advise on matters referred to it by the Vice-Chancellor or any other authority of the University. (2) The Court shall consist of the following members, namely:- Ex-officio members- (a) The Chancellor; (b) The Vice-Chancellor; (c) The Pro-Vice-Chancellor; (d) Such remaining members of the Executive Council who are not otherwise members of the Court; (e) The Dean of Faculty; (f) The Registrar; (g) The Finance Officer; (h) The Librarian of the University; (i) The Head of the Institute/Campus of the University; (j) Two representatives of the State Legislative Assembly to be nominated by the Speaker; (k) Persons representing distinguished professions, industry, commerce and agriculture, not exceeding ten persons to be nominated by the Chancellor: Provided that while nominating, due representation shall be given to different interests, professions and qualifications. (l) Representatives of teachers - five teachers to be selected in the prescribed manner: Provided that the first representatives of teachers shall be nominated by the Chancellor. (m) Two representatives of the Management Board who shall be nominated in the prescribed manner: Provided that the first representatives under this clause shall be nominated by the Chancellor. (n) Representatives of students- One representative of each faculty who has secured the highest marks in the previous degree examination of the faculty and belongs to a course of study for a postgraduate degree in the University. (3) The term of office and the procedure for the conduct of meetings shall be such as may be prescribed.
