Power of Council to prohibit entry in or direct removal of name from State Medical Register
The Chhattisgarh Ayurvigyan Parishad Adhiniyam, 1987The Council, on receiving instructions from the Registrar or otherwise, may prohibit the entry of the name of any such person in the State Medical Register or may direct the removal of the name of any such person from that register— (a) who has been convicted by a criminal court for any offence which, in the opinion of the Council, shows such a defect in his character as to make his enrollment in the State Medical Register or the remaining of his name in the State Medical Register undesirable; or (b) who has been found guilty of disgraceful conduct in a professional respect by the Council, after such an inquiry in which he has been given an opportunity of being heard, and which may be held in camera in the discretion of the Council, by a two-thirds majority of the members present and voting in the Council meeting, but such members shall not be less than five.
