Prohibition against defiling water tanks etc.

(1) A Municipality may, from time to time, give necessary directions, for proper preservation of the source of drinking water and barring its use in a particular manner which is likely to defile such water. (2) Any person disobeying such direction shall, on conviction, be sentenced to imprisonment which may extend to two years or fine which may extend to two thousand rupees or both. (3) When any such direction is disobeyed, or emergency action is required, the Municipality may take such action as it consider necessary to enforce such direction.
