Persons suffering from leprosy not to engage in certain occupations

Statutory text
- (1) No person who knows that he is suffering from leprosy shall, until it is certified by an authorised practitioner to be non infectious and to have been so for a period of not less than six months, engage himself or accept any employment-
- (i) as a teacher, student, doctor, nurse, midwife, ayah or orderly, house servant, personal attendant; or
- (ii) in any other capacity, in which a direct and continued contact with any other person is effected or which involves deleterious contact with children.
- (2) No one shall engage or employ any person whom he knows or has reason to believe to be suffering from leprosy in any of the capacities referred to in sub-section (1) unless such person possesses a certificate granted under section 79.]¹
