Infectious diseases

Statutory text
For the purposes of this Act, "Infectious diseases" means Infectious diseases—
- (a) anthrax,
- (b) cerebro-spinal meningitis,
- (c) chicken-pox,
- (d) cholera,
- (e) diphtheria,
- (f) dysentery (bacillary an amoebic),
- (g) ancephalitis lethargica,
- (h) epidemic influenzal pneumonia,
- (i) enteric group of fevers, viz., typhoid, paratyphoid, A, B, C, fevers,
- (j) leprosy,
- (k) measles,
- (l) mumps,
- (m) plague,
- (n) puerperal fever,
- (o) relapsing fever,
- (p) scarlet fever,
- (q) smallpox,
- (r) tuberculosis of lungs, typhus,
- (t) undulant fever,
- (u) whooping cough,
- (v) acute poliomyelitis,
- (w) rabies, or any other disease which the State Government may, from time to time, by notification, declare to be an infectious disease, either generally throughout the [State] or in such part or parts thereof as may be specified in the notification.
