Registration of births and deaths

(a) A Gaon Panchayat shall undertake registration of births, deaths and marriages and the reporting of epidemic diseases and for the purpose shall comply with all orders of the Director of Health Services or any order working under his authority and of the Chief Commissioner. (b) A Panchayat shall maintain registers of births and deaths and marriages in Forms Nos. 31, 31-A for every village situated in its jurisdiction and the Pradhan and the Secretary of the Gaon Sabha shall be responsible for its correct maintenance.
