Chapter II Establishment of Markets
Statutory text
- (1) (a) In every market area.(i) there shall be a market yard; and 1[(i-a)there may be one or more yards for special produce. 1[(ii) there may be more than one submarket yard;] (b) for every market yard or 1[submarket yard] there shall be a market proper. 2[(iii) There may be one or more than one private market/ yard private submarket yard/ private farmer consumer yard for market area, managed by a person/ organization/ farmer producer organization which registered with Mandi Board/ Mandi Samiti;]2 2[(iv) There may be one or more than one Terminal Market Complex.]2
- (2) The State Government shall, as soon as may be, after the Issue of notification under Section 4, by notification,— 1[a) declare any specified place including any structure, enclosure, open place or locality in the market area to be a market yard or sub-market1[“or special produce market yards” and “or farmer/consumer sub- market yards”]1 as the case may be;] and (b)1[declare in relation tosuch market yard “or special produce market yards” and “or farmer/ consumer sub market yards” as case may be any specified area in the market area to be a market proper. ]1 1.
