Service conditions

(1) The State Government shall, through a transparent process, lay down the service conditions for different ranks of Civil Police. (2) The promotion of Civil Police officers should be linked with screening processes and training to ensure higher levels of professional competence and accountability. (3) In order to provide a fast track for career progression to Police officers, at least 20% of direct recruitment posts shall be earmarked for being filled by promotion on the basis of seniority-cum-merit as per the laid down criteria.
