Selection of Chairperson and Members of the Commission

(1) The Chairperson of the Commission shall be appointed from a panel of retired high court judges, received from the Chief Justice of the High Court of Sikkim. (2) Members of the Commission other than the Chairperson shall be appointed on the recommendation of the selection panel constituted under this Act for the appointment of the independent members of the State Police Board. (3) Vacancies in the Commission shall be filled up as soon as practicable and not later than three months after a seat has fallen vacant. (4) In selecting members of the Commission the Panel shall adopt a transparent process.
