The Slaie Government shall iake effeclive steps to ensLlre thal the average hours ol duty ol a Police Officer do not normally exceed eight hours a day : Provided thalin exceplional siiualions the duty hours of a Pollce Ofiicer may extend up to '12 hours or beyond. ln such cases, adequate compensalion and facilities shall be provided to the Police personnel.
