Investigation Manual and Crime Review

(1) The head of the Criminal Investigation Department shall cause to be prepared, within 6 (six) months from the commencement of this Act, a comprehensive Investigation Manual specifying detailed operating procedures for investigation of serious crimes and other crimes, procedure for collection of samples for forensic analysis by the CID and Police Station level CIUs and investigating officers. The Manual along with recommendations of the Director General of Police shall be placed before the State Police Board for its approval within 1 months of the commencement of this Act. (2) The Criminal Investigation Department shall publish a periodical Criminal Investigation Gazette/Crime Review, giving information regarding crime, arrests, wanted persons, warnings etc., in such form and with such content as the Director General of Police may direct from time to time. The Gazette shall be widely circulated, and published on the website of the Police Department.
