Objects of the University

Statutory text
- (1) The object of the University shall be to promote higher education, research, extension and training in social sciences and other subjects through creative approach along with development of technical skills for social and economic development of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other backward classes and for academic excellence.
- (2) The objects of the University shall be as follows:— (एक) to disseminate and advance knowledge, wisdom and understanding through teaching, research and extension and to sensitize and train functionaries in evolving and implementing policies and programs focused on social, economic and academic development of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other backward classes; (दो) to provide institutional and research facilities in such branches of learning as may be required for the objects of the University; (तीन) to establish networks with national and international universities, institutions and organizations for higher education in the areas of social, economic or academic development, social evils, superstitious practices, discriminatory practices, by utilizing modern tools and techniques, contemporary approaches, norms and standards, strategies, views, plans and programs, beyond the international standing of faculty and students in teaching, research, extension and training activities, irrespective of caste, creed, race, religion, ethnicity, region, language, gender; (चार) to organize integrated courses at postgraduate and higher levels in social sciences and relevant programs in technical and other subjects, including engineering, medical sciences, management studies, agricultural technology and basic frontiers of rural crafts, to facilitate socio-economic development of the deprived sections; (पांच) to contribute significantly in the area of social, economic and academic development and empowerment of socially deprived sections according to the vision of various social thinkers and reformers initiated by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar; (छ) to conduct studies for finding out appropriate remedial measures for social, economic and academic inequality, disability and discrimination arising from the caste system and its various aspects like inertia and resistance to change; (सात) to discover innovative strategies by combining technical advancement with scientific approaches of social sciences focused on socio-economic development, poverty eradication and rooting out social evils, social inequalities and injustice.
