Definitions

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— (क) "Academic Council" means the Academic Council of the University; (ख) "Chancellor" means the Chancellor of the University; (ग) "Dean" means the Dean of the School of the University; (घ) "Dean Student Welfare" means the Dean Student Welfare of the University; (ङ) "Department" means a Department of the University; (च) "Director" means the Director of Extension and Training of the University; (छ) "Executive Council" means the Executive Council of the University; (ज) "Finance Controller" means the Finance Controller of the University; (झ) "Governing Body" means the Governing Body of the University; (ञ) "Hall" means a unit of residence or of corporate life for the students of the University, or a body, by whatever name it may be known, maintained by the University; (ट) "Prescribed" means prescribed by the Statutes, Ordinances or Regulations; (ठ) "Recognized Institution" means an institution maintained or recognized by, or associated with, the University; (ड) "Registrar" means the Registrar of the University; (ढ) "Centre" means a Centre maintained by the University; (ण) "Statutes", "Ordinance" and "Regulations" mean respectively the Statutes, Ordinances and Regulations of the University for the time being in force; (त) "University" means the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University of Social Sciences established under section 3; (थ) "University Grants Commission" means the University Grants Commission established under section 4 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (No. 3 of 1956); (द) "Vice-Chancellor" means the Vice-Chancellor of the University;
