Statutory text

(1) Subject to the provisions of this Act, the Statutes may provide for all or any of the following matters, namely:-(a) the constitution, powers and duties of the Authorities of the University; (b) the election, appointment and continuance in office of the members of the Authorities; (c) the filling up of vacancies of members of the Authorities; (d) the procedure at meetings of the Authorities; (e) the disqualification for membership of the Authorities; (f) the emoluments and allowances to be paid to the Officers; (g) the constitution of pension, insurance and provident funds for the benefit of the officers, teachers and other employees of the University; (h) the maintenance of the accounts of the University and the audit of such accounts; (i) any other matter which is or may be prescribed by the Statutes. (2) The first Statutes shall be made by the State Government and shall be laid before the Legislative Assembly. (3) The Statutes may be amended, repealed or added to by the Court in the manner specifically prescribed in the Statutes.
