The superintendence of election of the Gram Panchayat and constitution of the State Election Commission etc.

(1) The conduct, superintendence, direction and control of the elections of Pradhan, Up Pradhan, Member of the Gram Panchayat shall be vested in a State Election Commission constituted at State level.

(2) Subject to the superintendence, direction and control of the State Election Commission, the State Election Commissioner shall supervise and perform all function relating matters of the conduct for the post of Pradhan, Up Pradhan and Members.

(3) The State Government shall, with the consultation of the State Election Commission, by notification appoint a date or dates for general election or by election of the Pradhan, Up Pradhan and Members of any Gram Panchayat.
