Statutory text

(1) The State Government may, from time to time make model byelaws for any matter in respect of which a Corporation is empowered to make byelaws under this Act, and publish them in the Gazette for the guidance of Municipality.
(2) It appears to the State Government that in any Corporation byelaws are necessary for any matter in respect of which model byelaws have been published under sub-section
(1) it may require the Corporation to adopt such model byelaws modified to suit local conditions.
(3) If any Corporation fails to comply with a requisition made under sub-section
(2) within six months of the making thereof the State Government may apply to such Corporation the model byelaws with such modifications, if any, as it thinks fit.
