For every sum paid on account of any tax under this Act, a receipt shall be tendered by the person receiving these payments, stating the sum and the tax on account of which it has been paid.

Writing of irrecoverable taxes Writing of irrecoverable taxes.- The Commissioner may, with the previous approval of the Corporation order to be struck off the books any sum due on account of any tax or of the costs of recovering any tax, which may appear to him to be irrecoverable.
