Power of police to arrest offenders.-
- (1) Any police officer and in the absence of a police officer, any office or servant of the Corporation Empowered in this behalf by the general or special order of the Government under sub-section
- (3) of section 347 may arrest any person who commits any offence against, this Act or any rule or byelaws made there under—
- (a) if the name and address of the person are unknown to him, and
- (b) if the person declines to give his name and address or the is reason to doubt the accuracy of the name and address given.
- (2) Any person arrested under this section may be detained until his name and address are correctly ascertained:
