The Registrar

The Registrar. —

1. (1) The Registrar shall be a whole time salaried officer of the University and shall be appointed by the Kulpati in accordance with the statutes to be made in this behalf : Provided that the person appointed as Registrar shall be an officer of the State Government not below the rank of a Deputy Collector or a Senior Lecturer/Reader in the University or a College having at least 15 years teaching or administrative experience : Provided further that the State Government shall have power to appoint a Registrar from the academic cadre of the University or from the State Administrative Service, as the case may be, on deputation and the person so appointed shall hold office for a period of three years which may be extended by the State Government for a further period of two years.
2. (2) The Registrar shall exercise such powers and perform such duties as may be prescribed by the Statutes and Ordinance of the University.
3. (3) The Registrar shall be ex-officio Secretary of the Court, the Executive Council, the Academic Council and such other authorities, bodies and committees as may be provided by the Statutes and Ordinance.
4. (4) The Registrar shall exercise general supervisory control over the Officers and Staff of the University.
