Quorum and adjournment for want of quorum

(1) No business shall be transacted in any meeting of the Corporation unless a quorum shall be present. (2) One-third of the total number of the Councillors holding office for the time being shall be the quorum; provided that in case where the total number of Councillors holding office for the time being is not evenly divisible by three, the one-third shall be ascertained by taking the number next above such total number which is evenly divisible by three, as the number to be divided. (3) If at the appointed time for a meeting, or within half an hour thereafter, a quorum is not present, the meeting shall be adjourned to some future day to be appointed by the Chairman or, in his absence, by the Vice-Chairman and three day's notice of such adjourned meeting shall be given, and no quorum shall be necessary for such adjourned meeting.
