Power of prescribed authority to summon and enforce attendance of witnesses and other persons.-The prescribed authority shall have a11 the powers of a civil court under the Code of Civil Procedure 1908, (5 oi' 1908) while trying a suit, in respect of the following matters, namely :-

1. (i) summoning and enforcing attendance of the conlplainant or the person against whom complaint is made under this Act and 1% it- w;tnesses required in connection there-with;
2. (ii) compelling the production of any documents; and
3. (iii) examining witnesses on oath; and may summon and examine JZIO mot0 any person \vhose evidence appears to be material. Explanation.-For purposes of enforcing the attendance of witnesses and other persons mentioned above, the local limits of the jurisdiction of the prescribed authority shall be the limits of Himachal Pradesh.
