The Registrar

(1) The Registrar shall be a whole time salaried officer of the University and he shall be appointed by the Chancellor on recommendation of a Selection Committee consisting of the following. (a) Vice Chancellor – Chairman, (b) Pro Vice Chancellor; (c) One nominee of Chancellor; and (d) One nominee of Board of Governors nominated by Chancellor; (e) The Head, Human Resource Department shall be the convener of the Committee. (2) The Registrar shall be the Chief Operating Officer of the University and he shall work directly under the supervision, direction and control of the Vice Chancellor. (3) The term of office of the Registrar shall be for a period of three years, renewable for additional term(s) till the attainment of the age of superannuation, i.e., 65 years provided that in exceptional circumstances the Board of Governors may extend the term of Registrar beyond 65 years.
