This Act provides for the establishment and governance of the North East Christian University, a private university in Nagaland jointly sponsored by the Nagaland Baptist Church Council and the Council of Baptist Churches in Northeast India. It establishes the university's corporate structure, administrative officers, governing councils, degree-granting powers, academic faculties, and financial arrangements. Open to all students regardless of background, it applies to university administrators, faculty, staff, affiliated institutions, and students. The legislation matters because it creates a dedicated higher education institution offering professional, technical, and interfaith programs tailored to the region, ensuring regulated academic standards, administrative autonomy, and institutional stability.
