Preamble

The North East Christian University Act 2012 (Act No.4 02013) Received the assent of the Governor of Nagaland on 10.5.2013 and published in the Nagaland Gazette Extra Ordinary on 5* June 2013. An -Act-

To established and cooperate a private University by the name of the North East Christian University (NECU) with emphasis on providing an instruction, Teaching Training and research in the field of professional courses of Science, Health, Science, Liberal & Fine Arts, Commerce, Law, Technical, Technology, Interfaith, Religious Education, Management and other Allied areas sponsored jointly by the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) and the Council of Naptist Curches in northeast India (CBCNAI) and to provide for matter connected therewith or incidental thereto.

WHEREAS the establishment of a Private University can be done only through an Act of the State Legislative Assembly. as per provision in the University Grant Commission (Establishment and maintenance Standard In Private University) Regulation Act2003.

And WHEREAS The University shall be affiliatory in nature opento any private institutions and colleges: Be itenacted by the Nagaland Legislative Assembly in the Sixty-third years of the Republic of India as follow: 437-
