Chapter V COUNCILS, COMITTEES AND BOARDS

Statutory text
  1. (1) The following shall be the member of Governing Council:
    • (i) The Chancellor shall be the ex-officio Co-chairman.
    • (ii) The Pro chancellor shall be the ex officio Co-Chairman.
    • (iii) The Vice Chancellor shall be the ex officio Vice Chairman
    • (iv) The Director Incharge of the operations in Nagaland shall be an ex officio member.
    • (v) The Finance Officer shall be an ex officio member;
    • (vi) Onenominee of the Visitor;
    • (vi) Two eminent cducationist/academicians nominated by the Chancellor;
    • (viii) Three person nominated by the Nagaland Baptist Church Council;
    • (ix) Five persons nominated by the Councils of Baptist Churches in North East India;
    • (x) Two person nominated by the Pro Chancellor;
    • (xi) Two member of the teaching community of the University to be nominated by the Academic Councils; and
    • (xii) The Registrar shall be the ex officio Secretary.
  2. (2) The Governing Councils shall be reconstituted every five years.
  3. (3) A nominated member may resign from the membership of the Governing Council at any time by addressing his resignation to the Chancellor.
  4. (4) An ex officio shall cease to be a member of the Governing Council if he ceases to be in office by virtue of which he became an ex officio member.
  5. (5) A nominated member shall cease to be amember of the Governing Council if'he ceases to be in office on account of which he was nominated to the Governing Council.
  6. (6) A member shall cease to be a member of the Governing Council on declaration to be of unsound mind or insolvent by a competent court or if he convicted fora criminal offence involving moral turpitude or if he fails three consecutive meetings of the Council.
  7. (7) The nominating authorities shall have a right to replace their nominees to the Council atany point of time.
  8. (8) Casual vacancies arising in the Council before its reconstitution shall be filled for the unexpired term.
