Power of Vice-Chairman to the institution, composition etc. of legal proceedings and obtaining legal advice

The Vice-Chairman may, on behalf of the Authority and subject to control by— (a) institute, defend or withdraw from legal proceedings under this Act or any rule or regulation made thereunder; (b) compound any offence under this Act or under any other law for the time being in force which may be lawfully compounded by the Authority; (c) admit, compromise or withdraw any claim made by or against the Authority; (d) obtain such legal advice and assistance as he may from time to time think necessary or expedient to obtain or as he may be desired by the Authority to obtain for any of the purposes referred to in the foregoing clauses of this section or for securing the lawful exercise or discharge of any power duty vested in or imposed upon the Authority or any officer or employee of the Authority.
